Mat-Su Adult Education

NINE STAR MAT-SU’S ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM PROVIDES A NUMBER OF SERVICES FOR ADULTS FROM 16-116

Diploma completion

Adults who have earned their high school diplomas will earn thousands of dollars more in their lifetimes than adults who don’t have this crucial, career-building education. If you need your diploma, Nine Star offers classes to help you prepare for the four General Educational Development (GED) exams: math, science, social studies, and language arts. Once you pass the exams, you will receive an Alternative High School Diploma by GED Exam from the State of Alaska and be on your way up the career ladder!

Career assistance

Do you need to be connected with resources to help pay for school or training? Do you want to apply to a local apprenticeship? Join the military? Go directly into the workforce? We offer Career Readiness classes and services to help you figure out your post-diploma steps. Our job coach can also help you find a job while you are studying with us.

English as a second language

We offer English as a Second Language courses for non-native speakers. The classes cover basic reading, writing, language, and conversational skills, and students will learn how to navigate real life situations and improve their understanding of American culture. If US citizenship is your goal, we can provide you with assistance in interview and test preparation.

Class format

All classes are available in person at our office or online. If you live nearby, we encourage you to enjoy the in-class experience so you can interact with fellow students. If this is not feasible, we welcome your participation via Zoom. Either way, if you are committed to the coursework and to building your skills, we are committed to supporting you through the process TO SUCCESS!

Cost

Tuition is $40 per quarter, which covers all fees and course materials. Scholarships are available to offset the cost if needed.

Please contact us today. Don’t wait – there’s a whole new career waiting for you!
